This update includes several key improvements to tax return accuracy, data extraction consistency, and API functionality — enhancing both structured and unstructured document workflows.
Bug Fixes
Tax Return Date Extraction (Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1040)
Previously, beginning and end dates on tax returns defaulted to January 1 – December 31. These dates are now correctly extracted directly from the tax forms. 1065 and 1040-SR will be updated with our next release.
Schedule D Line Parsing
Resolved an issue where Schedule D values were incorrectly including excess characters from line numbers or descriptions. Line item values are now parsed accurately.
Schedule E – Multiple Property Imports
Fixed a limitation that only imported addresses from the first Schedule E uploaded. FlashSpread now correctly extracts all property addresses when multiple Schedule E forms are included (e.g., more than three properties).
Enhancements
JSON Response – Individual Names
In addition to the full name field, the JSON response for individual tax returns now includes separate first_name and last_name fields, exactly as they appear on the tax form.
Business Financials via API – New Endpoint
A new API endpoint has been added to support retrieval of Business Financial Documents (Income Statements and Balance Sheets) in JSON format.
- Clients can now access unstructured business financial data directly via API.
- Updates to these documents are also included in webhook notifications for real-time synchronization.
Overall Impact
These improvements ensure higher accuracy across tax form extractions and more flexibility for clients integrating business financial data via API or webhook automations.
